So do you really want it?

Does running to your potential mean something to you? If so read on – No more than a couple of minutes I promise J. Firstly though – Yes this is a plug for “Run recovery”, but quite a bit more too.

Its frustrating when someone comes to me and says they are struggling with their body and the reply to this simple question “ have you seen someone about this “ is something like no, not really. I do get it we are all busy and its probably true many people just don’t know what to do – and that’s part of what I do and what we teach at Runlab, being more aware, stronger and faster runners.

Luckily for me I guess I’m maybe more suited to running because of my size and shape? But I also do work quite hard on many of the other things outside of the actual running and likely you should too within reason. We are not all “Elite” but to improve there are things that should be done as almost the normal process of being a good runner.

We have a pretty good team and network or resources and lets look at Newcastle as an example. Firstly we have Grandstand – if you take a step back these guys are really detectives of the human body. The guys working there particularly Cassie, Anthony and Matt I know well and they take the time to really identify what may be causing you a particular problem.

Then we have the therapists of Aviano and Body Mine. Both very good. Dave and his team also look at your body from a runners understanding – I’m always talking to them about running and movement, id have to best describe them as the maintainers, as is Lucas from body mine. I mean these guys are athletes or have been athletes, all of them, they live and breath it. At Aviano too, Dave carries out a “Hip Balance treatment” its free to try and then $20 for a returning appointments. It helps me!

Then we have Runstrong and Adam Clarke and myself, passionate about doing our part we created the program that is Runstrong, all about getting the body working in balance so you can maintain efficient running form – Lets call us the strength builders. We are pleased that we can work with UpnAdam and Genesis Cooks Hill to deliver you 4 classes in the area now.

Then we also have CORE espresso; I like what these guys do and its part of the fuelling side of the equation. Richard is a great guy and is passionate about quality products and services. I love my coffee and I love my juices. Runlab paid for everyone in Term 1 doing the Friday recovery session a free green or anti-inflammatory smoothie so we could expose you to available products and their benefits. Whilst we aren’t doing this in Term 2 – CORE will be teaming up with more offers, thanks guys

So these are some of the things that form a part of a runner’s routine if they are really serious about running to their potential. Now run recovery! So we started this in term 1 officially and we had 3 -4 Runlabbers from across the groups and most of the guys from the Elite session come regularly – so about 10 people. We ran a water recovery and mobility and stretching class.

In Term 2 we will run just the stretch/mobility class – a full hour of opening up, stretching and mobility following a specific sequence led by Lucas. It runs from Grandstand. If you are already entered into a group i.e. myrungroup OR Runstrong, for $149 you get a full term of this PLUS Lucas is giving everyone a FREE 1 hour sports massage, so do you really want it! That’s seriously great value and Id like to think we get another 10 people come along this term that are serious about results.
