We will get in touch with you on Friday before the run on Saturday. Cost is $30 and includes the session and Hydration for all runners. We will accomodate all levels of runner – but suggest if you are not able to run for at least 45 minutes and train 2-3 times a week, this may not be suitable for you, so please email us if you are not sure.
This session will include an element of technique tips to improve your trail running confidence and ability. We will start and finish at Dixon Park, near Dixon Park SLSC. There is plenty of parking and amenities nearby. We will cover the entire 11km course, but also have a slightly shorter option for those not ready for the full distance yet.
Those covering the 11km course will be the more experienced runners, with those less experienced only running 8km in this first session, this is so we can all take part in the technique and skills section of the training day.

Cost: $30.00 per person! Note that you will need to pre-register before 5:00pm, Thursday 11th December and process payment for your space to be confirmed. Spaces are limited to 30 so get in quick to avoid disappointment.
Start Location: Meet at the Coastal Ascent start/finish line precinct located within Dixon Park, Bar Beach, right next to the Dixon Park SLSC. There are toilets and facilities here for pre and post run. (Link to map https://goo.gl/maps/jK9oT25hZ2z)
Start Time: 6:00am*,Saturday 14th December 2019. Session runs for up to 2 hours.
What to bring: Comfortable running clothes! And preferably trail running shoes if you have them. All runners should carry a phone so that you can contact the run leaders on the day if required. Carrying your own hydration is recommended but we will have Tailwind at the start/end
Who is this for?
This training session is comprised of two parts, a trail run and a strength session/technique set.
Session 1. The Runs
This training run is specifically targeted to those runners looking to take on an 11km trail run for the first time OR improve on times from previous road or trail runs. We will separate into 2 groups classified as intermediate/advanced and beginner to ensure that all runners are looked after and can complete the route safely without getting lost or being left behind. If you are in the beginner group you are not expected to run the entire 11km in one go, as such there will be walking breaks to allow all runners to finish.
Session 2. Dynamic Strength and Technique session
This is for everyone that can get back to Dixon park from 7:30am
