Coaches Benn and Vlad went out to the Hunter Public Schools Regional Cross Country held on Friday 1st June 2018 at Cessnock racecourse. This was opportunity for many of our Young Guns to run with the hope for some to go to the State Cross Country.

Conditions were testing and the course is tough including exposed areas and long sections of sand. Winter had arrived, it was cold and windy. Here is a little recap.

Ok so we may have missed a few people- it was such a crowded buzz. So if we did SORRY please let us know how you went.

There were over 10 Young Guns and Junior Runlabbers running this year and shortly the Catholic Schools event is on with another strong contingent having a run. Distances varied (on age) between 2-8km. Some of the notable achievements included

Jack 1st – Well done! Great job jack

Sienna 2nd. Well done!

Louis Smith. 6th (whilst he isn’t even specifically run training currently as he is focussing on Basketball!).

Those guys are Auto qualifiers for STATE! There were so many other great runs, we are so proud of you all for your efforts including Asha, Lily, Byron 40th and 2 minute PB, Harry 19th, Chloe 16th, Indianna 31st, Darcy 11th and Ella and Aiva 7th.

A VERY SPECIAL mention must go too

Darcy POWELL and AIVA PINCHES who are both 1st reserve finishing 7th and 11th respectively.

Your Coaches are proud of you as all Runlabbers are! All of these runners ran in race waves of 100 plus runners.

We know some of you are also disappointed, well that just shows you care and it means a lot to you. Its really about how you learn from that and take from it for future improvement – we understand exactly what it feels like but we are right behind you and excited about the next training focus.
