If you can feel it, its probably happening. So Im going to say that at the moment, some of you are struggling for motivation. It’s a difficult time of the year to train, sure – We get that. People are sick, mornings cold and days short. But it wont be that long until spring is here – literally. In fact my Season calculator for the start of summer is based on the City2Surf. Its magic, you will see, pretty much from City2Surf time in Australia it starts to feel summery again and you will want to be getting fitter and faster because your goal race, time, fitness goal is approaching really quickly EEEEEEKK – and you probably want to feel fit and look good during summer. Who doesn’t want to run with their shirt off occasionally or go for a swim and feel happy with you! I love the feeling of Summer on my skin.

But – these things just don’t happen. Right now just for a couple of weeks all those annoying things are holding you back, making sessions harder or hurt more, maybe you are skipping a few sessions. Remember if you miss your regular session you can “make it up” at another session that week.

I’ve had some massive challenges and disappointments over the last 12 months; I’ve not even talked about most of them except to a close few. I don’t think the time is right or fair to air them either now, but I will in time. So I’ve had to dig deep when its been hard – For me running fast doesn’t just come bolted on to my body or is bought in a bottle, I have to get out there and work hard too. But we know you guys are special, you are coming when others chose not to make that decision to do their best, you are trying, in the dark and the cold and the rain at Jesmond, Merewether, Newcastle, Maitland, lake mac, the Fernleigh, the Foreshore, Domain, The bay run, Centennial, Maroubra, Rozelle, Parramatta, Sutherland, Alexandria, Upnadam on Monday and Wednesday, I – Train, Howzat Cooks Hill, and more. You have already chosen to do more, you are part of Runlab and the training isn’t easy but it’s the best!
